Pricing questions
Is the price fixed?
Yes. We scope the project first and then give you a fixed quote. You are not billed hourly, and the number you agree is the number you pay. If you later ask for something that materially changes the scope, we quote that separately before doing it.
What are the ongoing costs?
Domain is roughly £10 to £20 a year and hosting £60 to £300 a year depending on the site. SSL is included. Maintenance is optional — you can handle updates yourself or we can, and we will price that separately so it is a genuine choice.
Do I own the website?
Yes. You own the code, the domain and the hosting account. There is no proprietary platform locking you in, and you can move to another developer at any point without rebuilding.
Why is bespoke software not priced upfront?
Because scope varies enormously. A focused internal tool and a full operations platform are entirely different projects, and any published figure would be misleading for one of them. We scope first, then give you a fixed price to decide against.
Do you take payment in stages?
Yes. Typically a deposit to start and the balance on completion, with larger projects split across milestones so payment tracks progress.
